What counts as a big day?
Anything that's big to a kid: a birthday, the first day of school, a big game or recital, a brave doctor or dentist visit, a new baby at home, a move, a lost tooth. You write it in one line ("turning 5 on Saturday", "first day of kindergarten tomorrow") and the character makes it the whole point of the call.
When does the call happen?
Whenever you tap Call. Your link is ready the moment you pay and works any day, so you can book today and call on the morning of the big day. Just before the call, there's a box for anything new since you ordered, and the character brings it up.
How does the live call work?
After checkout you land on your call page (we email you the link too). A grown-up ticks "a grown-up is here," taps Call, and allows the microphone. The character picks up already knowing your kid's name, the big day, and the great thing they did, then chats, answers questions, and plays little games for the time you chose. It works on phones and computers, in English or Spanish.
Will the character promise a present?
Never. They never ask about presents or party guests and never promise anything. Surprises are the best part, and the characters say so. If a kid's wish is sad or impossible, they're gentle and point them to their grown-up.
My kid is nervous about the big day. Will this help?
That's what Captain Nova and Pip are for. They never say "don't be scared." They say wobbly feelings are allowed, name one small brave step, and cheer it. They never describe doctor visits or promise nothing will hurt.
Is it a real person?
No. Each character is voiced by AI technology we designed to be kind, silly, and safe for young kids. They follow strict rules: never scary, never ask for personal information, never keep secrets, never promise gifts. If a child mentions something worrying, the character gently tells them to talk to their grown-up.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. Tick "This is a gift" on the order form and add the parent's email. The call link goes to both of you, and the email says who it's from.
What if the call drops, or my kid isn't ready?
Every order includes an extra try. Just tap Call again from the same page.
What do you do with my information?
We only ask for first names, and we only use them for your call. Voices are processed live and never recorded or stored. Order details are deleted 60 days after the call. See our privacy policy.
Refunds?
If something goes wrong with your call, email us and we'll fix it or refund you. Terms.
